The Olathe Police Foundation is comprised of a group of citizens with a joint purpose of supporting the men and women of the Olathe Police Department. The Olathe Police Foundation operates independent of the Olathe Police Department in Olathe, Kansas and has its own set of by-laws. The Foundation is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization that supports efforts to improve police/community relations and awards grants to the Olathe Police Department for specialized equipment, training and program needs that are not included in their regular city-funded budget. Your gifts are tax deductible as allowed by law. Thank you for your support.
The Olathe Police Foundation awards collegiate scholarships to children of Olathe Police Department employees graduating from high school each Spring. These awards are granted in memory of Officer Michael Kern who suffered a massive heart attack and passed away in February, 2015. The OPF hosts an annual 7.04 mile run and a 5k run/walk in Ofc. Kern’s memory. Through these efforts the Olathe Police Foundation granted four $500 scholarships in Mike’s memory in 2016. With your support it is our mission to continue this effort.
